We are Patrick and Mike Bryson. We’re identical twins originally from Bozeman, Montana. When we were 2 our family relocated to Vancouver, Washington. Our families have resided here since, raising our children and enjoying everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Whenever possible, we collaborate on art projects together.
As children, we were always sketching and playing with clay. We would go door-to-door selling little clay sculptures to neighbors. Eventually, we were both drawn to explore different mediums. I (Pat) focused on painting and Mike explored the use of charcoal. In my senior year of high school, I was employed by numerous retail stores and restaurants for custom window paintings and artwork.
For years we have used artwork to ground ourselves, allowing us to slow down and focus on creating something beautiful. As outdoor enthusiasts, much of our inspiration comes from beautiful landscapes, or the unique animals that share this space with us.
A few years ago a wind storm blew a tree down in our yard and I purchased a chainsaw. A year later, in a piece of maple, I saw a barn owl. I broke out the chainsaw, and soon enough, my vision was a reality and I was officially hooked on chainsaw carving.
Our various mediums, whether it be ink, charcoal, paint, or a chainsaw all provide a unique quality that allows us to bring to life a vision that we can hold onto for a lifetime.
